JENAINNOVATION is a cross-institutional initiative for innovation and knowledge transfer in Jena.

We support teams and organizations in translating research findings and scientific ideas into practical impact. To achieve this, we accompany innovation processes from the initial idea to real-world application and foster collaboration between academia, industry, and partners across society. In doing so, we contribute to positioning Jena as a leading innovation region.

JENAINNOVATION is a joint initiative of Friedrich Schiller University Jena, Jena University Hospital and University of Applied Sciences Jena.

The project has several focus areas, one of them is Photonics and Medical Diagnostics. Within this area, JENAINNOVATION specifically focuses on the transition from photonics research through prototype development to practical application. The focus lies both on innovations in photonics and optics themselves and on their use in medical diagnostics and clinical practice. Together with industry, research and clinical partners, we accelerate the transfer of these technologies into application.
