The Abbe Center of Photonics (ACP) hosts fundamental and applied research in optics and photonics. It cross-links the activities of its principal and visiting scientists together with about 380 doctoral and about 250 Master's degree students. While covering a broad variety of different research topics, we are researching in the following five key research areas:

  • Lasers & Photonic Systems

    Coherent Light Sources, Photonic Instrumentation, and Optical Systems.

    Advanced Spectroscopic Methods for Biomedicine, Multimodal Bioimaging & AI-assisted Spectroscopy, Integrated Photonic Diagnostics & Smart Lab-on-a-chip.
