The Abbe Center of Photonics (ACP) together with the Institute of Applied Physics (IAP) has contributed with a booth to the Laser World of Photonics, the largest and most traditional trade fair on Lasers and optical components in Europe, from 13 to 16 May 2013. The ACP was presented in Hall C1 at the booth "Research for the Future" of the states of Saxony, Thuringia and Saxony-Anhalt. Inter alia, research results of the scholarship program "Green Photonics" funded by the Thuringian government and the joint project Optical Microsystems (KD OptiMi) were be presented. In addition, ACP scientist Prof. Gerhard Paulus from the Institute of Optics and Quantum Electronics (IOQ) exhibited a so called "phasemeter" at an adjacent booth. ACP scientist Prof. Andreas Tünnermann chaired a panel on "Ultrafast Lasers" while ACP scientist Jun.-Prof. Jens Limpert contributed a talk on "Fiber amplified µ-chip lasers". The ACP booth was visited by a multitude of interested fair guests with backgrounds in science and optical industry.
