On January 28 and 29 and under the umbrella of the Leibniz Institute of Photonics Technology, ACP principal scientists Markus Schmidt and Jürgen Popp organize a fiber optics workshop with an international blend. Optical fibers are the basis for efficient photonic systems in signal transmission and information technology, high-power fiber light sources and fiber optical sensors and probes. This international Workshop aims at building a platform for in-depth discussions about important questions about the application of fiber technology in various areas of science and technology. Moreover, the establishment of sustainable stake holder networks and purposeful international research collaborations will be promoted in that context. The list of speakers includes:

  • Ken Oh, Yonsei University
  • Hans-Peter Loock, Queen's University
  • Stavos Pissadakis, FORTH-IESL
  • Axel Schulzgen, University of Central Florida
  • Nicolas Joly, Friedrich Alexander University Erlangen-Nürnberg
  • Markus Schmidt, Leibniz-Institut für Photonische Technologien
  • Jens Limpert, Friedrich-Schiller-Universität Jena
  • Hartmut Bartelt, Leibniz-Institut für Photonische Technologien
  • Heike Ebendorff-Heidepriem, University of Adelaide
  • Torsten Frosch, Leibniz-Institut für Photonische Technologien
  • Stefan Nolte, Friedrich-Schiller-Universität Jena

Scientists, students and interested guests from everywhere a welcome to register at the workshop until January 25, 2016.
