INAUGURAL LECTURE BY PROF. ULF PESCHEL

On April 13, 2015 at 6:15 pm, ACP principal scientist Prof. Ulf Peschel will give his inaugural lecture titled "Bewegtes Licht - über die erstaunlichen Ausbreitungseigenschaften von Photonen" (Moving light - the amazing propagation properties of photons) at the auditorium of the university's main building.

Ulf Peschel is the successor of Prof. Falk Lederer and holds the Chair for Solid State Optics since October 2014. The scientific work of his group is centered at questions like how light is influenced by the surrounding space and how the propagating field can modify its own environment by nonlinearly driven self-organisation. Topics of interest include, among others, discrete fiber networks, nanophotonics and plasmonics, optics in curved spaces, nonlinear light propagation in random potentials and photonic crystals. The Peschel group is theoretically oriented, but strongly seeks interfaces to experimental optics and photonics groups.
