ACP postdoctoral researchers at Alumni Conference in Berlin

In October 2013, ACP initiated its research alumni strategy as one of eight winning institutions of a competitive funding scheme issued by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. The competition was announced by the Humboldt Foundation and supported by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research. The APC concept implies to establish stronger connections with its foreign researchers in order to prepare them as life-long ambassadors of the ACP and of the Friedrich-Schiller-Universität Jena.

From 27 to 29 November 2013, the Alexander von Humboldt foundation initiated the program by inviting ACP's nominees to a dedicated conference held in Berlin. With distinguished representatives from several research funding agencies, including the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), the German Research Society (DFG) and the European Research Council (ERC), as well as research performing agencies such as the Fraunhofer Society, the Helmholtz Association, the Max Planck Society and the Leibniz Association, a comprehensive overview on the German research landscape was provided. Although the conference was centered on alumni strategies, opportunities for long-term research and career opportunities in Germany were equally discussed. The ACP nominees invited to the conference were Prof. Berger (ASP guest professor), Dr. Egorov (IFTO), Dr. Grange (IAP), Dr. Jauregui-Misas (IAP), Dr. Pshenay-Severin (IAP) and Dr. Surzhykov (HIJ).
